This night presents the tales of these fabulous women and their songs and how they shaped the Blues, Jazz, Soul and Gospel Music scene which paved the way for Roots, Blues Jazz, Funk and Soul artists of today.
LIZA OHLBACK is blessed with a voice that is influenced by the great Soul & Gospel singers, and through singing in her mother's gospel group.
Her voice, rich powerful and emotive, combined with commanding stage presence saw her chosen to play the lead role in the Theatre Rockumentary “Pearl – the Janis Joplin Story”. Liza has won three prestigious Chain Awards and her last album was no 1 in Australia and the US, on the Independent Blues charts.
TAYA CHANI a respected performer on the Soul & Blues scene has a stunning voice ideally suited to Blues, Soul and Jazz.
A talented singer/guitarist/harmonica player and songwriter, Taya has toured Australia and played at major festivals/venues as well as having an album in the top 5 of the Australian Blues & Roots charts. A dynamic performer who leaves audiences spellbound.
